Hello Families,
First, a big thank you!
The new school year is already upon us! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for entrusting us with the important task of educating your child and preparing him/her for this diverse world that we live in. I am personally honored by the trust and community that makes James Madison Charter Academy the great school that it is.
When you hear “James Madison Charter Academy”, what do you think about? We are dedicated to our community and the children that attend school here. Our mission statement reads: “James Madison Charter Academy inspires children to explore a diverse world through hands-on learning.” So you can count on the fact that your student(s) who attend our school will be prepared for the future through exciting hands-on learning experiences and collaboration with other students to navigate problem solving and learning.
This year, we intend to focus on agency, which is the principle that students have the ability and the will to positively influence their own lives and the world around them. Agency allows students to take responsibility for their learning, build resilience in solving problems, and develop an innate sense of curiosity that will drive them to become lifelong learners. We also look forward to implementing service learning projects where students can explore issues within our community and develop ways to address those issues to provide positive outcomes.
We look forward to a very exciting year at James Madison Charter Academy. The first day for students will be August 5, but please be sure to attend our Back to School Night on August 1 at 6:00PM. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the staff and community that makes JMCA so special as well as to explore different ways that you can be involved here at the school.
Thank you,
Jeff Kacena – Principal
