Family involvement is an important part of the JMCA community. Whether you have time during the school day, at home, or at an event, your contribution supports our students and teachers.
JMCA’s current Volunteering page asks families to complete 30 volunteer hours during the school year. Opportunities depend on school needs and are shared throughout the year.
Three easy steps
The office can help you find a task that fits your schedule and the school’s current needs.
Find an opportunity
Check the front-office board or ask staff what help is needed now.
Schedule your time
Arrange volunteer opportunities at least 24 hours in advance, as requested on JMCA’s current page.
Record your hours
After completing a task, record your family’s hours in the volunteer log at the front office.

Classroom support
Prepare materials, help with displays, or assist with approved classroom needs.
Events & fundraisers
Support school celebrations, activities, and fundraising efforts.
School projects
Help with approved grounds, inventory, maintenance, or office tasks.
Help from home
Some classroom preparation tasks can be completed at home with school approval.
School groups
Participate in eligible PTO, accountability, or Board meetings and service.
Other needs
Ask the office about additional projects approved by administration.

Please record your volunteer work in the front-office family log. Families are responsible for logging their own hours rather than asking teachers to enter them.
If you are unsure whether an activity counts, check with the office before you begin.

- Volunteer tasks are scheduled according to building needs.
- Hours belong to the family completing the work and do not carry over automatically to another year.
- Ask the office about meeting-hour limits and any exceptions before planning your time.
- JMCA’s posted policies may change; confirm current requirements with school staff.
