Homework Policy
Meaningful learning continues at home through reading, movement, and a connection between families and school.

Time at home should count.
After a full school day, students need time to recharge. JMCA’s homework policy focuses on activities that support learning and well-being, rather than routine busywork.
THE NIGHTLY ROUTINE
15–30 minutes
Read each night. The minimum depends on your child’s age. Reading builds vocabulary and helps students communicate, connect, and understand the world.
At least 30 minutes
Make time for active play. Movement can help with stress, focus, sleep, and school performance.
Parent signature
Sign your child’s planner or responsibility log each night to keep communication between home and school going.
Other assignments
Students may occasionally need to finish work from school. Family projects take place once or twice each quarter.
Our goal: purposeful practice, time to recharge, and a strong school–home connection.
